It is never too early to book and reserve your slot! It is best to contact me towards the beginning - middle of your pregnancy so that I can add you and your baby to my schedule for a tentative date. Once you are added to my list you are guaranteed a session within two-three weeks of contacting me post delivery.

Newborn portraits are ideally captured within the first two to three weeks of a baby’s life. This is because they are generally sleepier in the earlier days and therefore easier to pose. However if you desire your baby to be photographed older than three weeks it can be done, please just let me know your preference.

My custom portrait sessions are a unique and personalized experience. As a parent myself, I know the importance of preserving these special moments. I strive to create a relaxed session, while capturing a variety of posed and lifestyle portraits that capture the emotions of this special time. I will help with styling and posing, and applying my expertise in artful lighting and retouching to bring out the best in your newborn portraits. I absolutely love getting to know each of my clients, and creating one-of-a-kind art that you will treasure forever. My shooting style consists of a very white-bright-organic look. I prefer not to use too much color or props, and instead, stick with natural tones. Therefore, I will provide all blankets, wraps, and other props necessary.

I welcome all immediate family members to be apart of the session and recommend it!

$25 per add-on parent$50 per add-on sibling If siblings are going to be apart of your newborn session, please arrange for them to come during the first 45 minutes of the session.

If you have older children that you’d like to be apart of the portraits, however, we will shoot their portion of the pictures, and family portraits, during the first half of the newborn session. Therefore, I kindly ask for them to arrive with the parents at the beginning of the session and then once their portion of the session is done, if possible, I ask for them to leave the studio for the second half of the session and the start of the newborn-only portion. I understand this may be difficult for scheduling purposes, and depending on how far clients are coming from, but older siblings can be a bit of a distraction and I try my best to keep a calm and quiet studio for the newborn-only portion of the session, Thank you for your understanding.

Your session will be held on a weekday morning around 9am. I do not shoot newborns on the weekend so please plan accordingly if you would like your partner/spouse and any older children to attend the session.

Newborn photography sessions last around two hours. There is plenty of time for feeding, soothing, and lots of cuddles. I strive to create a relaxed and peaceful environment, and my priority is always your comfort and the safety of your newborn. These sessions are delicate, and therefore, I patiently take the time to perfect each pose. Therefore, please a lot at least two hours of time. I would also recommend you not plan something the same day or directly following your session in the event the session runs a little over. I do not shoot much longer than two hours but there have been times we do run a little over and if you have a pediatrician appointment or something directly following your newborn session it might be a bit too much for one day.

PLEASE bring with you a pacifier as it will be helpful to soothe baby when they get a little restless. I completely understand not all parents want their baby using pacifiers, and some babies just don’t seem to like them right away, but please bring them anyway. It will be a very helpful thing to have if baby gets restless while trying to pose. I am not able to soothe them any other way so please just bring one just in case.

Please feed baby approx. 30 minutes prior to your session so that they have a full and relaxed belly when they arrive. Of course nursing and feeding in the studio can be done should baby need it, however, if baby arrives with an empty stomach, it will chew up shooting time as they eat and then relax again.

Please dress baby in minimal clothing so that they can be easily undressed when they arrive. avoid tight clothing or headbands that might leave markings in their delicate skin. bring any preferred lotions or creams so that we can moisturize baby’s skin, should it be dry. I have a selection of different props to “dress” the babies in including swaddle wraps, outfits, diaper cover, blankets, headbands, and small hats. Please do not bring outfits, as they are too difficult to showoff at this early stage. I prefer to keep babies more natural and organic-looking in simple items.

As for parents and other siblings, I love and recommend light and airy colors or earthy tones for intimate newborn portraits. A lace camisole, white or cream colored top or a dress for Mom. A white, grey or lighter colored shirt for Dad.

For older siblings, something simple, and lighter colored as well. I recommend simple, classic apparel that reflects your style. Neutrals and creams with touches of pastels for a soft, gentle feel is recommended. Please, no dark colors.

Please note: my studio is kept warm for the babies around 80 degrees, so please dress accordingly.

After our time together I select the best images for processing and retouching. I devote time to carefully compare the hundreds of images from your session to select the best ones from each concept — based on facial expressions, posing, lighting, sharpness, and overall appeal. These final images are each individually processed and enhanced. Two-three weeks later, the images will then be uploaded to an online gallery where you will be able to view and then download them for personal use (sharing online, making prints, making albums, etc.)

The number of pictures varies from session to session, however you will see 50+ images in your final gallery

To book a session I just ask for a $100 deposit (non-refundable)This can be done by either using the Venmo App (@amanda-trahan)Once booking has been made your name will be added to your due date month.Then, once the baby arrives, please contact me asap to let me know for scheduling your session.I guarantee booking within two to three weeks from the time you contact me. So, if you wait until you are home from the hospital, that is fine, but I won't be able to guarantee a session two weeks from their birth date. So whenever you have a second and can shoot me a quick email please do and I will get you on my calendar at the next available opening within two to three weeks!

PAYMENTS: the balance of the session is due at the shoot.
